It’s Not Delivery. It’s Bank Robbery!

Last week, Entertainment Weekly released its annual Summer Movie Preview, which is easily one of my favorite issues of the year.  I began flipping through the pages as soon as I got my hands on it, and was psyched to learn that Jesse Eisenberg  is reteaming with his Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer on a new movie called 30 Minutes or Less.  In the film, Eisenberg is a hapless pizza-delivery guy who’s forced to rob a bank after getting a bomb strapped to his chest by bumbling criminals Danny McBride and Nick Swardson.  Along with him for the ride is none other than “Tommy Fresh” himself, Parks and Recreation’s Aziz Ansari.  Check out the hilarious red band trailer for the upcoming adventure comedy, due in theaters August 12.

Summer in Rome

Woody Allen sure knows how to pick ’em.  Midnight in Paris, his latest star-studded flick, may not be premiering until the Cannes Film Festival in May, but the iconic director is wasting no time planning his next outing, and has already lined up a stellar cast.  Earlier today, Variety reported that Jesse Eisenberg and Ellen Page have signed on to the as-yet-untitled film, which is set to begin shooting this summer in Rome.  Penelope Cruz and Alec Baldwin are also attached to the project.

This casting news has me all kinds of excited.  First off, I’m a huge fan of both Eisenberg and Page, so I’m really looking forward to seeing these two young stars share the screen.  Both are cool yet kind of quirky, so I’m definitely psyched about this pairing.  I’m also thrilled about the idea of Cruz reuniting with her Vicky Cristina Barcelona director.  Lastly, I can’t wait to see what Baldwin adds to the mix.  Once again, Woody Allen has once proven that he has a real knack for assembling pretty amazing and eclectic casts!
